COVID-19: 31 test positive in J&K

J&K reports 6 new covid-19 cases, no death

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Saturday reported 31 fresh cases of Covid-19, taking the number of active cases to 229 while no more death was reported in the Union Territory (UT) in the last 24 hours and the death toll stands at 4,784.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 31 new cases, 19 belong to Kashmir division while 12 belong to Jammu division.

He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 305,006 including 302,448 recoveries and 2,433 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 173,919 including 171,464 recoveries and 2,351 deaths.

He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 229 including 125 from Kashmir division and 104 from Jammu division.

With 51 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 473,912 which is 98.95 percent of the total cases.

“Among the fresh 31 cases today, 11 are from Srinagar, 02 from Baramulla, 03 from Budgam, 02 from Pulwama, 00 from Kupwara, 00 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 00 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 12 are from Jammu division that include 07 from Jammu district, 02 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 01 from Doda, 01 from Kathua , 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 01 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” said the official.

As per the daily information bulletin 6,793,759 persons in J&K are under observation while 534 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 229 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 6,787,632 persons have completed the surveillance period and 580 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,591,124 samples are available.

“Out of 26,591,124 the number of samples tested negative stands at 26,112,199 while 478,925 have tested positive, among them 229 cases are active, 473,912 have recovered and 4,784 persons have died,” it added—(KNO)
