Bandipora: Residents of Neeru village in Gurez’s Tulail on Monday said that the only link road leading to their village has been closed for the last several weeks due to accumulation of snow.

Talking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), locals said that the road has been closed for the last several weeks now and they have to face a lot of inconvenience because of the closure of the road.

“Due to recent heavy snowfall, the road was closed. But authorities have not cleared the snow from the road, leaving us at the mercy of God,” said the village Sarpanch.

“We are ferrying patients on cots and children on shoulders as the administration failed to clear snow from the road leading to the village,” he said, adding that it was beyond their understanding as to why the snow was not being cleared from the road.

The villagers appealed to the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora and SDM Gurez to pay heed to their grievances and directed the concerned authorities to start snow clearance operation on the said road—(KNO)
