DODA, SEP, 20: The inter-District Divisional Level Competitions of Jammu division in the disciplines of Volleyball (girls UAG 19) concluded at Sports Stadium Doda, here today, successfully.
In all, around 350 girl participants drawn from eight districts of Jammu division, which include Jammu, Udhampur, Samba, Doda, Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch and Reasi participated in the said volleyball competition to display their skills and talents in sports activities.
The competitions were organized under the patronage of Shubash Chander Chibber, (JKAS) Director Youth Services and Sports, and under the guidance of Suram Chand Sharma, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports, Jammu, while Jaffer Haider Sheikh, DYSSO Doda was the organizing secretary of the competition.
The out station players were provided rooms in the reputed hotels at the district headquarter, due to the non availability of the sports hostel. Various prominent players of the Doda desired from the government that youth hostel may please be raised for which government land is available around the sports stadium Doda.
According to the organizers, the main objective of the competition is to select the teams of Jammu division for their further participation in State Level competitions.
Earlier, in under-14 girls Rajouri, Poonch and Udhampur achieved winner, runner up and 3rd place respectively. Where as in under-17 girls Kathua, Poonch and Udhampur achieved winner, runner up and 3rd place respectively.
The matches were officiated by various officials of the department of YS&S Doda.
The tournament was inaugurated by the DDC Doda Vishesh Mahajan in the presence of SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom , ADDC Pran Singh, District Information Officer Mohammad Ashraf Wani and others. Latter Dharmendra Sharma Joint Director of School education department inaugurated U/17 and DYSSO Doda inaugurated U/19 event.
Prizes, certificates, and trophies were given by various officers of the District Doda.
Today, on the concluding day of the tournament, Samba beat Udhampur by 2:0 and won the 3rd place in U/19 girls volleyball competition. In
