Srinagar 16 Oct: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Monday forecasted the weather to remain inclement in J&K till tomorrow (17th October) and expected an overall improvement in weather from Wednesday.
As per the news agency CNS, the MeT department said that more light to moderate rain or snow is expected to fall at scattered places of J&K’s higher reaches today and predicted the same to continue, with lighter intensity, on 17th October (Tuesday) in the UT.
It further said that an overall improvement in the weather would be likely from 18th (Wednesday) onwards. The weather department also expected a significant drop in the temperature across J&K.
Regarding the prevailing conditions in J&K, it added that weather is overcast with intermittent rain/snow over higher reaches at scattered places.
After a prediction of the MeT Department regarding chances of rain or snow over higher reaches of J&K from 14th-17th, the same was witnessed as Razdan Pass in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district and Pir Ki Gali on Mughal Road in the south-west of Kashmir valley received a fresh snowfall.
The MeT department also advised farmers to postpone harvesting of crops till tomorrow and said that there would likely be disruption in transportation especially at vulnerable places like Zojila, Mughal Road, Sinthan Top, Sadna Top etc. (CNS)
