BHADERWAH, FEBRUARY 28: Social Welfare Department today organized a one-day ‘Sensitization cum Training Programme’ on the Juvenile Justice Act 2015, POCSO Act 2012 and Child Rights here in the community hall Bhaderwah under Mission Vatsalya.
District Development Council Chairman, Dhananter Singh presided over the training program as the Chief Guest.
Addressing the participants, the DDC Chairman threw light on crucial aspects of the Juvenile Justice and Child Protection Act 2015, including the legal framework for juvenile justice, child protection measures, rehabilitation and reintegration of juvenile offenders, and other relevant topics.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah Sunil Kumar, Sub Judge Bhadarwah Ramesh Lal Secretary legal service authority besides police officers, member child welfare committee, child protection committee, Advocates, members of Media fraternity, JKRLM, Asha workers and others also attended the event.
Facilitators conducted sessions on Child Rights Mechanism, an overview of the Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and POCSO Act 2012, overview of adoption regulations 2022, and the role of SSA, overview of Mission Vatsalya, among other topics.
ADC Bhaderwah, said that under the Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS), the department focuses on providing preventive, statutory, care and rehabilitation services to vulnerable children, including those from potentially vulnerable families, families at risk, orphans, child drug abusers, child beggars, trafficked or sexually exploited children, besides others as per the law.
