Srinagar, Feb 28 : Krishna Dhaba, a renowned restaurant in the Dalgate area of Srinagar, on Wednesday, commemorated the third anniversary of Aakash Sharma, the late owner, who was killed in a terrorist attack.
Speaking to the news agency—, Ramesh Mehra, the current owner, said, “Aakash was not just a businessman; he was a beacon of hope for many.”
He added, “Krishna Dhaba has been a symbol of goodwill in the community, known for its tradition of offering free breakfast and lunch to all visitors. On this anniversary, the dhaba has opened its doors once again, continuing Sharma’s legacy of hospitality and compassion.”
Despite the sombre atmosphere, the restaurant was filled with warmth as more than 2,500 people gathered to partake in the free meals provided by Krishna Dhaba, Ramesh said, adding that the number might be higher than 2,500 as the people continued to come in good numbers throughout the day.
Ramesh said they started free distribution from 9 am to 5 pm. “We served breakfast, lunch, Rajma Rice, etc, and the dhaba was jam-packed with activity,” he added.
