Budgam, Mar 02 : Lack of development is causing multiple hardships to residents in Bekamnar village of Budgam.
Residents told news agency— villagers said that despite being only nine kilometers from the district headquarters, authorities fail to provide even the most basic services, presenting a tale of unending neglect and unfulfilled development needs.
They said that the Bekamnar’s main problem is its dilapidated connecting roads, which have turned into a muddy dirt track and is a major cause of inconvenience for the people.
Locals express their dissatisfaction, saying that the district administration seems to be unaware of their issues and has certainly neglected their concerns.
“Our village seems to have been forgotten by the district administration,” Bashir Ahmad, a local resident, said. “The dilapidated road and lack of basic amenities make us feel like we are living in a different era, far removed from the progress experienced by neighboring villages.”
Another resident Abdul Majeed said they suffer because of multiple issues ranging from dilapidated roads to dangling electric wires tied to trees. “We expected development during the Panchayat tenure, but nothing happened,” he said.
Also, poor mobile connectivity is causing problems for them with children struggling to attend online classes.
“We request the government that our village has long been neglected and urge authorities to prioritize development of our village,” residents said—
