Jammu, Mar 04 : Senior politician and former legislator Nizam-ud-Din Bhat on Monday exhorted upon the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to redress the genuine grievances of CIC Operators of Rural Development Department on Humanitarian grounds.
Bhat, in a statement issued to news agency— urged the Lieutenant Governor to address the long-standing grievances of CIC operators regarding regularization and salary disparity.
The senior politician said all the operators recruited through a transparent and merit-based process in 2004 are well qualified having advanced qualifications like MCA, MSc, and BE/B.Tech degrees and have dedicatedly served the department for the past two decades.
“Despite their qualifications and experience, they continue to receive a meager monthly salary of Rs 10,000, which is insufficient to meet the rising cost of living and ensure our financial well-being.”
Bhat further stated adding to the financial struggles, the regularization of their services, approved by the J&K Cabinet in 2014 and further endorsed by various committees and legal bodies, remains pending despite years of follow-up.
“This delay creates immense insecurity and demotivation among us, impacting their morale and dedication to their work”.
The former legislator urged the lieutenant governor to take a humanitarian view over the matter of this qualified lot by regularizing their services besides expediting the revision of their salary structure to ensure a fair and adequate increase, commensurate with their qualifications, experience, and the rising cost of living—
