RAMBAN, MARCH 07: The Department of Sheep Husbandry Ramban, under the guidance of District Development Commissioner, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary organized a one-day Capacity Building-cum -Training Programme at Rajgarh for farmers, breeders, SHGs and FPO members here today.

The program, held as part of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), focused on promoting wool and pelt for effective processing and marketing.

The initiative aimed at creating awareness about various components of the HADP programme, including achieving self-sufficiency in mutton production, reducing livestock mortality by improving infrastructure at highland pastures, and establishing FPOs for efficient processing and marketing of wool and pelt.

Continuing efforts, a prefabricated hut was also inaugurated at Ghari, Rajgarh, as part of the “Strengthening of Infrastructure at Highland Pastures and Enroute Migration” under the HADP 2023-24. This initiative aims to provide veterinary healthcare facilities for the migratory sheep and goat population, benefiting the community engaged in sheep rearing in the region.

The DSHO expressed gratitude to the district administration and the concerned ex-Sarpanch for their support in identifying and transferring suitable land for the initiative in a timely manner.

Highlighting the substantial potential for sheep farming in the district, the DSHO emphasized the significant role of the predominant farming community in fostering agricultural development in the region.

The event witnessed the presence of key dignitaries including the District Sheep Husbandry Officer Ramban, Dr. Shabir Ahmed, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Chanderkote, Ex-Sarpanch and Sheep breeders.
