Srinagar, Mar 08 : The Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh N Kotiswar Singh Friday said that the society must acknowledge the contribution of women and shall give them all the spaces and rights they deserve.

Speaking during the International Women’s Day at University of Kashmir, Justice Kotiswar said, “Women have been playing an important role in the society but somehow in the modern times, the same has not been recognized.”

According to the news agency— the Chief Justice said, “This is the day when we remind ourselves of the important role played by women and also inspire ourselves so that we acknowledge the role played by the women.”

“We also have to make ourselves aware about the difficulties faced by the women which often are created by the men and it is an attempt to mind that there cannot be any discrimination against the women,” he said.

Justice Kotiswar further said that we must recognize the potential and the rights of women so that we are equal partners in society.

“The contribution of women has to be acknowledged to make our society a better society without any discrimination and provide all the spaces women deserve which men have deprived them of,” he said.
