OP GOSU: TERRORIST KILLED IN PULWAMA

Srinagar, 11 Apr 2024. Acting on specific information regarding presence of
terrorist in village Gosu area of Pulwama, a joint cordon and Search operation was
launched in the wee hours by Rashtriya Rifles Unit and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
As the joint search party approached the suspected spot, the hiding terrorist
fired upon the security forces which was retaliated, leading to an encounter. In the
ensuing encounter, one terrorist identified as Danish Aijaz Shiekh, S/O Aijaz Ahmad
Shiekh R/O Ahmad Nagar was killed and his body was retrieved from the sight of
encounter.
Incriminating material, arms and ammunition including one Pistol with
ammunition, hand Grenade and pouches were recovered from the sight of
encounter. All the recovered material had been taken into case records for further
investigation and for further probe. In this regard, police has registered a case under
relevant section of law and investigation has commenced.
This operation is a result of synergy between various Security and Intelligence
agencies who are committed to ensure peace and tranquillity in Kashmir. Security
forces are committed to make concerted efforts to sustain the current peace
prevailing in the valley.
