GANDERBAL, MAY 02: On the directions of the District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, the Department of Social Welfare Ganderbal initiated a comprehensive election awareness campaign targeting specifically persons with disabilities and senior citizens. This significant outreach initiative, featuring key stakeholders such as One Stop Centre, Senior Citizen Home, District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC), District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) and Mission Vatsalya aims to educate and facilitate easy access to voting processes for these important community groups.
The campaign will encompass a series of informational sessions and workshops across Ganderbal District.
These sessions are designed to inform and assist individuals in understanding their voting rights, the importance of their votes, and the logistics of how they can cast their votes with ease, ensuring that no citizen is left behind during the electoral process.
Pertinently, District Administration Ganderbal is committed to ensuring that every citizen, regardless of their physical abilities or age, has the knowledge and means to participate in the democratic process, and in this regard all arrangements are meticulously put in place.
The officials of the District Social Welfare Office encourage all eligible citizens, their families and caregivers to attend these sessions and take full advantage of the resources being made available.
