Ganderbal, May 03 : The residents of Yechhama area of Kangan Monday appealed to the R&B department to macadamize the link road from National Highway to the Jamia Masjid.

The locals and drivers said that authorities have failed to macadamize the link road from National Highway to Jamia Masjid Yachhama village causing pedestrians and transporters inconvenience.

The road has developed ditches and potholes at several places causing people to suffer particularly during the rainy season, a local said.

The vehicles plying on the road on a daily basis have suffered damages due to bad condition of the road.

“Our vehicles have incurred heavy damages due to dilapidated condition of the road,” a passenger vehicle driver, told news agency. The drivers avoid plying vehicles on this road as a result of which passengers as well as students suffer.

They said that they approached the concerned officials several times to no avail.

A local said that the bridge connecting Yechhama village was built over Nallah Sindh in 2016 but the interior road, whose length is less than a kilometre, is yet to be macadamized.
