The meeting was attended by Additional SP, Ramban, Gourav Mahajan, ACR Ramban, S. Harpal Singh, and other official and non-official members from SC and ST communities, as well as non-SC and ST members of the committee.

District Social Welfare Officer, Ramban, Rahul Gupta provided a detailed description of the agenda, highlighting the significance of such meetings in demonstrating the District Administration’s commitment to addressing issues related to the protection of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. He emphasized the importance of providing a platform for stakeholders to discuss challenges and devise strategies for the effective implementation of these crucial pieces of legislation.

The committee deliberated on various cases of atrocities reported to the District Administration and explored the remedial measures including financial incentives for the victims.
The Deputy Commissioner issued strict instructions to all members, emphasizing zero tolerance for any violation of the above acts. He underscored the need for increased awareness programs in the district to educate the public about these legislations.
