DC Rajouri reviews drug control measures at NCORD committee meeting

RAJOURI, MAY 28: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat, today chaired a meeting of the District Level NCORD Committee to address the issue of drug abuse in the district. The meeting aimed to reinforce the existing measures and strategies to combat drug abuse effectively.

The DC meticulously assessed the ongoing programs and interventions in place to tackle the drug menace in Rajouri. The meeting facilitated a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted approach required to combat and eradicate drug abuse.

ASP Musadiq Majid Basu gave a detailed presentation on the measures being taken by the police Department to curb the drug menace in the district.

Regarding the awareness campaigns, the concerned officers informed that a number of programs are being organised to educate the public about ill effects of drug abuse. Chief Education Officer was directed to generate mass awareness among the students regarding drug abuse.

The concerned stakeholders were also directed to facilitate rehabilitation of the drug addicts in drug de-addiction centre and addiction treatment facility. Stress was also laid on the need for proper monitoring of courier services to prevent their misuse for drug trafficking purposes.

The meeting was attended by the ASP, Musadiq Majid Basu; ADC Sunderbani, Rajeev Magotra; ADC Kalakote, Mohammad Tanveer; SDM Thanamandi, Abid Hussain Shah; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt; CEO Education, Mohammad Mushtaq and other concerned officers.
