DODA, JUNE 06: The District Development Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, chaired a comprehensive meeting to discuss the preparation of the convergence plan for MGNREGA at DC office complex.

The meeting aimed to review current progress and devise strategies for the effective implementation of the MGNREGA scheme.

The DDC emphasized the importance of integrating various rural development schemes, ensuring effective coordination among different departments, and identifying potential areas for new projects.

The Assistant Commissioner Development outlined the features, modes, and permissible activities for MGNREGA convergence and discussed specifications and focal areas for the district’s plan.

The DDC instructed the ACD to prepare a comprehensive convergence plan in consultation with departments like Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, and ICDS, stressing the exchange of technical expertise to adopt best practices.

He highlighted works such as construction of kitchen sheds, plantation, desilting of khuls, and fish ponds under the convergence mode, directing departments to collaborate for an economic development-oriented plan.

Furthermore, the DDC urged the construction of ponds and trenches to store natural water sources and renovate the damaged khuls in villages, ensuring all 22 khuls are renovated within the stipulated time.

In conclusion, the DDC called on all departments to effectively implement the convergence plan to achieve sustainable development in the district.
