REASI, OCTOBER 07: A vibrant and impactful District-Level Competition on Role Play and Folk Dance was organized at District Institute of Education and Trainings (DIET) Reasi. The event was held under the aegis of the National Population Education Project (NPEP) and in academic collaboration with the J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE), Jammu.
The grand programme was meticulously conducted under the guidance and supervision of the DIET Principal Deepak Kumar Gupta, who formally inaugurated the day-long event.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from talented students representing multiple zones of the district, with five schools competing in the Role Play category and six schools showcasing traditional performances in the Folk Dance competition. To ensure a fair and rigorous evaluation, a distinguished three-member jury was constituted, comprising Vandana Magotra (HOD, DIET Reasi), Bindiya Langer (Lecturer) and Padam Nath Kotwal (Music Teacher, Kendriya Vidyalaya School Reasi).
After an intense competition and stellar presentations, Model Higher Secondary School Katra clinched the top spot in the Folk Dance category with a mesmerizing traditional performance. In the Role Play competition, PM SHRI Government Higher Secondary School Reasi secured the first position for an impactful and socially relevant enactment. Both winning schools have earned the honor of representing District Reasi at the upcoming Divisional-Level Competition to be held at JKBOSE, Jammu.
The primary objective of the initiative was to nurture creative expression, deepen cultural awareness and identify budding talent among students across the various blocks and educational zones of District Reasi. By providing a competitive yet collaborative platform, the event sought to instill confidence and highlight the rich socio-cultural heritage of the region. The event was seamlessly managed and coordinated by Vandana Magotra, HOD DIET Reasi, serving as the Programme Coordinator. She was ably assisted by B.D. Dubey (Master), who served as the Co-coordinator. Their structured execution ensured smooth proceedings across both competitive categories.
The celebrations concluded with the distribution of merit trophies to the winning institutions in both the Role Play and Folk Dance categories. Furthermore, certificates of participation were distributed to all participating student contingents, as well as the dedicated Zonal Nodal Officers of the respective zones, recognizing their tireless efforts in making the district event a resounding success.
