RAMBAN, JUNE 15: Following directives from Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, the Sub-Divisional Administration Banihal carried out a comprehensive market checking drive today. The initiative aimed to monitor and regulate overcharging and ensure the quality of essential commodities, particularly in preparation for the upcoming Eid festival.
Joint teams from various departments conducted thorough inspections in the Banihal market and its adjoining areas. During these inspections, the enforcement teams imposed fines totaling ₹4,200 on erring traders for violations, including overcharging and failing to maintain the quality of essential items.
Shopkeepers were specifically instructed to refrain from overcharging and were reminded of their responsibility to ensure the quality of essential goods and food items. The administration is dedicated to ensuring that consumers have access to high-quality products at fair prices during this festive season.
