UDHAMPUR, JUNE 27: District Election Officer Udhampur, Saloni Rai today briefed representatives of political parties about Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Electoral Rolls 2024 here at a meeting held in the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex, Udhampur.

The DEO informed that the Election Commission of India has instructed the execution of pre-revision activities and the Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls with respect to July 1, 2024, as the qualifying date.
She briefed the participants about the house-to-house (H2H) verification through Booth Level Officers (BLOs), rationalization and re-arrangement of polling stations, removal of discrepancies in the electoral roll and Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPIC), and the improvement of image quality by replacing blurred, poor quality, and non-specification images, wherever necessary.

The DEO also mentioned the updating of the control table and the preparation of Formats 1 to 8, along with the integrated draft roll with reference to July 1, 2024, as the qualifying date.

The DEO sought cooperation from all political parties and emphasized the importance of maximum registration of new eligible voters. She requested the representatives of political parties to widely disseminate electoral education among new voters, encouraging them to take an active part in the electoral process by getting enrolled as voters during the Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls 2024, thus contributing to the world’s largest democracy.
