Tourism Deptt reaches out to Stakeholders of Kashmir Marathon-2024

SRINAGAR AUGUST 15: In order to ensure the successful conduct of upcoming Kashmir Marathon scheduled to be held on 20-10-2024, a stakeholder consultation was held under the chairmanship of the Director Tourism Kashmir, Raja Yaqoob at Tourist Reception Centre, Srinagar.

Detailed deliberations were held with the representatives of prominent travel trade bodies, clubs, athletic associations and media houses.

Suggestions from all the stakeholders were recorded and it was mutually agreed that Department of Tourism J&K and all the stakeholders need to work in close symphony for making Kashmir Marathon a global brand.

It was also decided that the Department of Tourism and travel trade fraternity of J&K shall promote and publicize the Kashmir Marathon in all the upcoming major Travel Marts. Further the travel trade fraternity undertook to promote the Marathon through their principal agents and national travel bodies in addition to designing of Marathon centric tour packages.

With a view to infuse the spirit of professional running among locals, the running clubs and athletic associations were implored to ensure the participation of their members. It was also decided that as a run up to Kashmir Marathon, multiple engagement initiatives including bringing on board sports and film celebrities, promotion through local/ national print and electronic media shall be ensured.
