POONCH, AUGUST 24: District Election Officer (DEO) Poonch, Vikas Kundal on Saturday visited Mendhar Assembly constituency to assess the readiness for the upcoming assembly elections. During the visit, DEO held a comprehensive meeting with the officials to review the ongoing preparations and ensure that all arrangements were in place for a smooth electoral process.

He inspected the strong room and election cell to evaluate security measures and logistics. Later he visited Government Higher Secondary School (HSS) Mendhar where he interacted with the first-time voters and members of the Electoral Literacy Club.

The DEO engaged with the young voters encouraging them to actively participate in the democratic process. The DEO signed a canvas to partake in the “My Vote, My Right” signature campaign launched by the school under the aegis of SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) initiative

Vikas Kundal also held interactive sessions with the Sector Magistrates and other key officials to discuss the election arrangements in detail. Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Mendhar Imran Rashid Kataria presented a detailed briefing on the preparations highlighting the steps taken to ensure a smooth and fair election. The DEO reviewed the deployment of polling staff, transportation plans and voter facilitation measures thereby emphasizing the importance of flawless execution on Election Day.

The Electoral Literacy Club at GHSS Mendhar organised a special program where the first-time voters expressed their commitment to strengthen the democracy through their active participation in the elections. This initiative is a part of the broader effort to educate and engage young voters ensuring they are well informed and ready to cast their votes.

Vikas Kundal praised the efforts of the officials and the Electoral Literacy Club in fostering a culture of informed voting and encouraged continued efforts to maximise the voter turnout. He reiterated the commitment of district administration to conduct free, fair and transparent elections.
