SAMBA, AUGUST 30: In a significant move to promote voter awareness and participation, the District Election Officer (DEO) Samba, Rajesh Sharma spearheaded a Voters’ Pledge ceremony today under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign. The event, held at the DC Office Complex, Samba, aimed to galvanize both the administration and the public in anticipation of the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections.

The ceremony witnessed the participation of all district officials, including the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Chief Planning Officer (CPO), and other district officers and staff. The pledge was administered in both English and Dogri, reflecting the district administration’s commitment to inclusivity and reaching out to all community sections. This initiative was simultaneously conducted across all government offices and educational institutions in the district, underscoring a collective dedication to strengthening democracy through active electoral participation.

Following the pledge at the DC Complex, awareness posters were displayed to educate citizens on various aspects of the elections, including key dates, voter rights, and the technological measures in place to ensure a smooth and hassle-free electoral process. These efforts aim to encourage a higher voter turnout and foster a culture of informed and responsible voting.

Commenting on the occasion, DEO Samba, Rajesh Sharma stated, “Our goal through the SVEEP campaign is to educate and empower every citizen to participate actively in the democratic process. By taking this pledge today, we reaffirm our dedication to ensuring a fair, transparent, and inclusive election.”

The SVEEP campaign will continue to engage the community through various programs and activities to promote voter education and enhance electoral participation in the upcoming elections.
Similar pledges were also taken across all offices in district Samba.
