DODA, OCTOBER 01: In celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, the Government Degree College Kastigarh organized a series of engaging activities that honored the principles and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi.

The activities included seminar, bhajan singing, essay writing, slogan writing and reel-making competitions, all aimed at promoting the values of truth, non-violence, and simplicity that Gandhi Ji stood for.

The events were organised under the guidance of the college Principal, Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra, who emphasized Gandhi Ji’s profound contribution to the field of education and the importance of adhering to his philosophy of truth and non-violence in daily life.

The participants enthusiastically showcased their talents, reflecting on Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals and the relevance of his teachings in today’s world. The seminar focused on Gandhi Ji’s vision for a self-reliant and harmonious society, while the bhajan singing competition allowed students to connect with the spiritual aspect of his philosophy. The essay and slogan writing competitions further provided a platform for students to express their understanding of Gandhian values, encouraging them to embrace these principles.

Kavita Devi and Amisha Devi, who excelled in the competitions, were selected to represent the college at the district-level competition. The proceedings of these events were conducted by Dr. Sumit Kotwal, Assistant Professor of Environmental Sciences.

Faculty members who actively participated in the celebrations included Prof. Sat Pal, Dr. Anupam Lata, Ghulam Qadir, Manmohan Kotwal, Asiya Nazir, and Sachin Thakur.
