Assembly Elections-2024 DEO Samba inspects strong room, ensures secure EVM Storage ahead of Counting

SAMBA, OCTOBER 2: The District Election Officer (DEO) Samba, Rajesh Sharma, along with SSP Samba, Vinay Kumar, conducted a detailed inspection of the Strong Rooms where Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) from the 69-Ramgarh, 70-Samba, and 71-Vijaypur constituencies are securely stored.

The inspection, carried out at the Strong Rooms located at the DC Office Complex, Nandani Hills Samba, and Vijaypur, focused on reviewing the stringent security measures in place. These EVMs will remain under high security until the counting process begins.

During the visit, DEO Rajesh Sharma reviewed key security elements, including round-the-clock CCTV surveillance, deployment of security personnel, and strict access control protocols at each site. He expressed satisfaction with the robust security arrangements and commended the election staff and security forces for their vigilance.

He further directed on-site officers to remain alert and ensure strict enforcement of access control, limiting entry to only authorized personnel.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba, Jagdish Singh, and Returning Officers (ROs) – Sunaina Saini (69-Ramgarh), Kusum Chib (70-Samba), and Umesh Sharma (71-Vijaypur) – along with AROs and other district officials were also present during the inspection.
