Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, P K pole has directed all the Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) to strengthen all Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in Kashmir with men and machinery to tackle the wave-III of the Covid-19.
The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir informed that the Wave-III of Covid-19 has been very mild and the cases require symptom based treatment which can be given to them at PHCs.
Pole directed all Deputy Commissioners and CMOs to establish Triage Centres (TCs), with two in each district- one at District Hospital (DH) and other at Sub-District Hospital (SDH).
“All the necessary staff and logistics shall be put in place in these TCs. All positive cases in the district shall attend the Triage Centre on getting a positive Covid-19 test report and their further destination shall be decided by the Medical Team at the Triage Centre,” Pole informed the officials.
The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir has also directed that Out Patient Departments (OPDs) and Elective Surgeries be put on hold in order to prevent overwhelming health care facilities due to upsurge in Covid-19 cases.
Pole has further instructed the concerned officers to rope in more manpower from other departments if required, to deal with any eventuality with respect to the huge surge in Covid-19 positive cases.
“Designating all those hospitals as Dedicated Covid-19 hospitals which were earmarked for such purpose during 2nd wave of Covid-19 shall work as such hospitals and Special Beds and Wards for Covid-19 positive pregnant ladies,” Pole informed.
