Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Friday reported five deaths and yet another biggest spike of 2,456 fresh positive cases of COVID-19, taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 10,003.
With five more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached 4,557 and 2,456 fresh positive cases reported on Friday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 352,623.
Of the exact number of 352,623 cases, 220,839 are from Kashmir division and 131,784 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 2,456 new cases, 1,522 belong to Kashmir division while as 934 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 220,839 including 213,297 recoveries and 2,341 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 131,784 including 124,766 recoveries and 2,216 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 10,003 including 5,201 from Kashmir division and 4,802 from Jammu division.
With 380 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 338,063 which is 95.87 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 464 from Srinagar, 457 from Baramulla, 139 from Budgam, 22 from Pulwama, 104 from Kupwara, 101 from Anantnag, 95 from Bandipora, 12 from Ganderbal, 120 from Kulgam and 08 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 934 from Jammu division include 588 from Jammu division, 55 from Udhampur, 29 from Rajouri, 18 from Doda, 52 from Kathua, 16 from Samba, 33 from Kishtwar, 49 from Poonch, 04 from Ramban and 90 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.
As per officials figures, 81,157 positive cases including 885 deaths and 78,070 recoveries are from Srinagar, 27,378 including 292 deaths and 25,739 recoveries are from Baramulla, 25,207 including 24,428 recoveries and 220 deaths are from Budgam, 15,877 including 15,577 recoveries and 195 deaths are from Pulwama, 15,266 including 170 deaths and 14,857 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,978 including 16,563 recoveries and 209 deaths are from Anantnag, 10,426 cases including 10,096 and 111 deaths are from Bandipora, 11,105 including 10,945 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,811 including 11,461 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,634 including 5,561 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 57,328 including 53,264 recoveries and 1,166 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,917 including 11,394 recoveries and 141 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,602 including 11,162 recoveries and 240 deaths are from Rajouri, 8,189 including 7,940 recoveries and 138 deaths are from Doda, 9,785 including 9,293 recoveries and 154 deaths are from Kathua, 7,345 including 7,072 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,948 including 4,827 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,848 including 6,545 recoveries and 102 deaths are from Poonch, 6,152 including 6,047 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 7,670 including 7,222 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 5,482,972 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 7,166 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 10,003 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 5,027,460 persons have completed the surveillance period and 433,786 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 20,148,633 samples are available. Out of 20,148,633 the number of samples tested negative stands at 19,796,010 while as 352,623 have tested positive, among them 10,003 persons are active, 338,063 persons have recovered and 4,557 persons have died.
