Pulwama, 21 Oct, : In a celebration of innovation and dedication, progressive farmers from the Kashmir Valley were honoured at the George Maijo – Modern Agriculture Achievers’ Award event, organized by Valley Traders in Drabgam area of Pulwama district on Monday.
The event, aimed at recognizing the farmers’ loyalty and contributions to modern agriculture, saw the facilitation of the Valley’s leading cultivators with cash rewards and gifts by George Maijo, a renowned agricultural equipment company.
Mr Muzzamil from Valley Traders, the host of the event, led the proceedings, ensuring a smooth and engaging program for the gathered attendees. Valley Traders, a prominent name in southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district, is known for offering modern agricultural equipment at affordable rates, making a significant impact on the area’s farming practices.
- Ramesh, the pan-India Business Head of George Maijo, while talking to the news agency Kashmir News Trust (KNT), said the company’s commitment to providing high-quality, modern agricultural tools at reasonable prices. “Our aim is to facilitate the work of farmers by providing reliable equipment. The positive feedback we receive from farmers across the Valley shows the trust and connection we’ve built, which this event celebrates,” Ramesh said.
Harish Verma, State Head of George Maijo, shared insights into the company’s customer support system, noting that sales and services are backed by assistance via phone or video calls when required. “We are steadily gaining trust in the Valley. Thousands of farmers not only purchase our equipment but also recommend it to others, which is a testament to the reliability of our products,” Verma added.
The event also featured remarks from Fatulla, pan-India Brand and Marketing Manager, who expressed deep appreciation for the farmers’ continued loyalty. “The support and love from the farming community is heartwarming. This event is just a small token of our gratitude.”
Highlighting the importance of the initiative, Mr Manzoor, HDO Rajpora, praised the recognition of the farmers, stating, “The use of modern equipment in agriculture is essential for progress, and it’s commendable that George Maijo acknowledges the efforts of the Valley’s growers. However, the company must continue to ensure quality so that farmers get the best returns on their investments.”
Farmers in attendance lauded George Maijo’s fuel-efficient products and after-sales service, citing their satisfaction with the company’s offerings. The company, known for manufacturing a range of products such as Weeders, Brush Cutters, Power Sprayers, Water Pumps, and Power Rippers, continues to strengthen its foothold in Kashmir’s agriculture sector.
