DC Kishtwar reviews winter preparedness, seeks formulation of department wise action plans

KISHTWAR, OCTOBER 25: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Rajesh Kumar Shavan chaired a meeting of officers here today to take an elaborate review of the winter preparedness of departments.

The meeting involved deliberation by officers about their department wise Action Plans to tackle the winter related eventualities.

The DC reviewed the availability of ration, water and healthcare facilities besides firewood availability. He said that the dept will ensure the adequate number of Snow clearance machines, men and machinery is kept ready with staff for quick snow clearance in the district.

Discussing healthcare, the DC desired the departments to track pregnancy cases and have proper counseling in advance so that in harsh climate conditions they do not face any difficulty in managing institutional deliveries.
AD FCS&CA was directed for doing Safety audit of LPG Authorized dealers in the District and not to allow any unauthorized storage of inflammable material near congested habitation.

The DC also reviewed Plans of MC Kishtwar for snow clearance, and other departments. Fire and Emergency, Disaster Management Authority, SDRF, and others were also instructed to remain prepared to tackle any eventuality.

For Marwah, Warwan, Machail and other far off areas, he asked for a quick response mechanism to ensure the life line connectivity in these areas post the snow fall with special emphasis on the adequate supply of medicines, LPG cylinder, ration and other essentials. The BRO, PWD and PMGSY authorities were asked to deploy men and machinery in advance at the critical points.

During the review, the DC directed for establishing the District, Sub-Divisional, Tehsil and Sectoral Control Rooms to respond to eventualities and their publicity for the benefits of the general public for grievances redressal. He said that no laxity on part of any agency shall be tolerated.

The meeting was attended by ADC Kishtwar Pawan Kotwal, ASP Kishtwar Pawan Sharma, PO ICDS/CEO KDA Rishi Sharma, ACR Kishtwar Idrees Lone, ACD Kishtwar Phulail Singh, AD FCS&CA Shafqat Ali Keen, DFO Kishtwar, Tehsildar Kishtwar and others concerned officers and officials.
