KATHUA, NOVEMBER 07: The Field Office Kathua, Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, organized a two-day photo exhibition as part of its Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme at Town Hall, Kathua. The event aimed to engage the public with critical themes including revamped criminal laws, nutrition, and environmental protection through visual storytelling and interactive sessions.

The event attracted dignitaries, government officials, and local participants who experienced first-hand the informative displays on the tri-themed subjects.
ADC Kathua, Ranjit Singh who was the Chief Guest inaugurated the two-day exhibition.

Field Officer, CBC Kathua Rajesh Sharma welcomed the Chief guest and other dignitaries, outlining the objectives of the exhibition. He emphasized how collaborative efforts can help society tackle nutritional and environmental challenges while staying informed about evolving laws and procedures.

In his address, ADC Ranjit Singh urged participants to take full advantage of the exhibition’s insights into the recently restructured criminal laws, including the Bhartiya Nayaya Sahita, 2023, Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and Bhartiya Sakhya Adhinayam, 2023. He highlighted the importance of these laws for public awareness and community safety, and encouraged participants to spread the exhibition’s message within their communities.

The exhibition also highlighted Poshan Abhiyan and Mission LiFE, both of which are vital in today’s times. Poshan Abhiyan focuses on the holistic growth of children, pregnant, and lactating mothers, while Mission LiFE underscores environmental sustainability. CDPO Barnoti Varsha Rani provided participants with an overview of the evolution of Poshan Abhiyan, originally launched as the ICDS in 1975, explaining its shift from nutrition-centered initiatives to a more comprehensive approach to child development that now includes educational components.

Prosecuting Officer Vandana Sharma discussed the recent updates in criminal laws, noting that they have been refined to address the current threat landscape. She explained the new sections added to manage emerging criminal activities and how outdated sections have been removed to simplify processes for the public. She called on attendees to educate others on these revamped laws to ensure community members are informed of their rights and protections.

CEO Kathua Mangat Ram Sharma encouraged students to become ambassadors of these themes, urging them to share what they learned with family, friends, and community members. He underscored the relevance of the exhibition’s subjects in today’s world.

DIO Kathua Neeraj Bhargav commended CBC Kathua for selecting exhibition themes that address pressing, contemporary challenges. He expressed hope that the tri-themed exhibition would significantly enhance participants’ understanding of these important issues.

Besides, representatives from the Health Department provided an overview of Ayushman Bharat Cards and other welfare schemes aimed at enhancing public health.

The event also included a debate and painting competition, where students from various schools shared their perspectives on the tri-themed subjects, illustrating the importance of each and exploring ways to leverage their benefits. A cultural program brought energy and entertainment to the first day, further engaging attendees.

The CBC Kathua also gave away Trophies, environment friendly Jute Bags, Dust Bins as a gesture to promote eco friendly practices.
