UDHAMPUR, NOVEMBER 8: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai today convened a meeting with officers of the line departments to review the action plan with regard to winter preparedness in the district at Mini Conference Hall DC Office Complex.

Detailed discussions were held across all aspects of preparedness which included Action plan with regard to road clearance in snow bound areas, smooth movement of vehicles on National Highway, Identifying locations for additional parking at Patnitop, Provisions for smooth connectivity during winter etc.

The DC directed the concerned to activate men and machinery to minimize the chances of disruption of traffic and other essential services. She further directed that there should be no delay in clearance of blockade and as soon as it happens, clearance machines should be pressed into service so that the public does not face any inconvenience.

Calling for putting in extra efforts, he asked the concerned functionaries to immediately complete stocking of all essential commodities in snow bound areas.

The JPDCL was directed to maintain a buffer stock of power transformers, wires at sub-divisional workshops to enable timely replacement and repair of damaged transformers. Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department was directed to ensure adequate stocking of essential items, including ration, LPG etc in remote areas as well as sales centers.

While reviewing the arrangements for road clearance during snow falls on National Highway and other internal vital links of the district. Necessary instructions were issued to the concerned departments for the deployment of sufficient snow clearance machinery at the critical points to ensure uninterrupted traffic movement during the winter season.
