RAMBAN, NOVEMBER 11: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, chaired a comprehensive meeting with district and sectoral officers to review the district’s winter preparedness. Attendees included SSP Ramban Kulbir Singh, SSP Traffic NHW, Rohit Baskotra, ADC VarunJeet Singh Charak, ACR S. Harpal Singh, PD NHAI, DFOs, Executive Engineers, AD FCS&CA, CMO, CEO, and other senior officers.

In his directives, the Deputy Commissioner urged a strategic approach to ensure the uninterrupted provision of essential supplies and services. He instructed officials from NHAI, BRO, PWD, and PMGSY to prioritize snow clearance on NH-44 and link roads, emphasizing efficient deployment of machinery and optimal use of resources for prompt road clearance and restoration of connectivity.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the NH-44 four-laning project, addressing issues related to the completion of construction at critical locations in Ramban.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the CMO to ensure accessible healthcare services in all health institutions, with particular attention to the needs of pregnant women. This includes preparing for potential winter-related challenges and ensuring timely medical arrangements.

Additionally, the Forest Department was tasked with implementing preventive measures against forest fires and ensuring the adequate availability of firewood in depots across the district.

Further, the DC instructed the Power Development Department (PDD) to ensure a regular power supply, minimize unscheduled outages, and maintain an efficient repair system for timely replacement of damaged lines and transformers.

The Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department was directed to stock essential items, including rations, LPG, petrol, and diesel, especially in remote areas, ensuring easy access to supplies across all district sales centers.
In addition, the PHE Department was instructed to ensure adequate water supply across the district and submit panchayat-wise status reports.

The DC also tasked Tehsildars with overseeing the implementation of these directives within their respective jurisdictions and conducting regular reviews to ensure the effectiveness of all measures, providing seamless winter services to the people of Ramban.
