KATHUA, NOVEMBER, 13: In a significant boost to healthcare services in the district, Kathua receives critical health equipment under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT) has donated two Tru Naat machines and 1330 BP Apparatus (Hypertension Monitoring Machines) along with adaptors.

These state-of-the-art diagnostic tools will be instrumental in the early detection and management of hypertension and tuberculosis in the district.

Besides, APAR Industries Limited has provided two ambulances to support healthcare services as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

During the handing over ceremony, the DC Kathua shared an important insight into the district’s healthcare challenges. He revealed that approximately 30% of the population in Kathua is affected by hypertension, with many individuals unaware of their condition. Dr. Minhas emphasized that early diagnosis, coupled with lifestyle changes and medication, could effectively manage hypertension and reduce its associated risks. “The medical equipment provided today will be utilized for conducting door-to-door surveys, enabling healthcare workers to diagnose and monitor hypertension cases across the district. This will help identify at-risk individuals and ensure they receive timely care,” he stated.

In addition to managing hypertension, the donated Tru Naat machines will play a critical role in diagnosing tuberculosis (TB), another significant health concern in the district. With these advanced diagnostic tools, healthcare providers will be able to detect TB cases earlier, enabling prompt treatment and reducing the spread of the disease. The integration of these machines into the district’s health programs will enhance the overall quality of healthcare services available to the community.

The contribution of ambulances by APAR Industries Limited will further improve emergency medical response capabilities in Kathua. The ambulances will be strategically deployed to enhance access to urgent medical care, particularly in remote and underserved areas. These resources are vital for improving healthcare accessibility and ensuring that timely medical intervention is available to those in need.

Tata Power Community Development Trust and APAR Industries Limited, through their CSR initiatives, have made significant investments in the health and well-being of the Kathua community. These contributions are expected to have a far-reaching impact on the district’s ability to combat hypertension, tuberculosis, and other public health challenges.

The medical equipment, including the BP monitoring machines, Tru Naat machines, and ambulances, will be distributed and utilized by healthcare workers, ensuring that vital services are delivered efficiently across the district. These contributions will empower ASHA workers, ANMs, and local health institutions to provide enhanced care and support for the population.

The medical equipment will be distributed across Kathua District to Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA), Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANM) and various medical institutions. These contributions will significantly strengthen the healthcare infrastructure at the grassroots level, ensuring that healthcare providers have the necessary resources to offer effective care to the community.

The event was attended by a number of distinguished dignitaries, including Chairman and Managing Director of Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) Dr. Sanjeev Kumar; Group Head of Corporate Affairs at Tata Power Sudhakar Yadav; Manager of Corporate Affairs at Tata Power Anil Sahni;Member of Tata Power Community Development Trust Foram Nagori;CSR Executive from Tata Power Renewables Sudhanshu; ADC Kathua Ranjit Singh; Principal GMC & AH Kathua Dr. Surinder Attri;Chief Medical Officer Kathua Dr. Vijay Raina; District Tuberculosis Officer Kathua Dr. Radhakrishnan; All the Block Medical officers of District Kathua and other district officers and officials.
