DODA, NOVEMBER 21: A one-day Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) program was organized by the District Programme Officer (DPO) Doda, S. Paramjeet Singh in collaboration with the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Bhaderwah, at Khorwah, Panchayat Gajoth.

The program aimed to raise awareness about key initiatives such as Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), Poshan Abhiyaan, breastfeeding, and the role of balanced diets in the holistic development of children up to six years of age.

The event saw active participation from prominent citizens, social workers, supervisors, Anganwadi workers, helpers, and local women. A variety of engaging activities, including skits, speeches, and Poshan songs, were presented by Anganwadi workers and supervisors to disseminate important messages about child nutrition and maternal health. The role of Anganwadi centers in fostering holistic child development was emphasized through these creative presentations.

Prominent citizens and former Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members also addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of such programs at the grassroots level. They shared valuable suggestions for organizing similar initiatives more frequently in villages to ensure widespread awareness and community involvement.

DPO Doda, S. Paramjeet Singh, informed the attendees that over 30 such awareness programs have been successfully conducted across the district under the IEC initiative. He assured the public that these efforts will continue throughout the year to educate communities on vital issues related to child and maternal health, nutrition, and welfare. The program was lauded for its impactful outreach and collaborative efforts to promote better health and development outcomes for children and women in the district.
