DODA, NOVEMBER 28: The District Programme Management Unit (DPMU) NHM, under the aegis of the District Health Society Doda, has launched a five-day district-level training program for Mid-Level Health Providers (MLHPs) aimed at strengthening healthcare services across Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) in the district.

The training commenced on November 27, 2024 in the Conference Hall of the Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) Office.

The program was inaugurated by Chief Medical Officer   Dr. Om Kumar in the presence of Block Medical Officer Ghat, Dr. Abdul Gafoor and other staff members of the DPMU. MLHPs from Assar, Bhaderwah, Gandoh, Ghat, and Thathri blocks actively participated in the training.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Om Kumar highlighted the critical role of MLHPs in extending healthcare services at HWCs. He stated, “This training is designed to empower MLHPs with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver specialized healthcare services, including Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) care, Elderly & Palliative Care, and other vital services including, Oral Care, JSA and Mental Health. It is a significant step towards ensuring accessible and quality healthcare for every citizen in the district.”

The training sessions featured expert guidance from Dr. Versha Sharma, District Immunization Officer (DIO) Doda; Dr. Tarif Younas and Dr. Nasreen Shinali, both serving as MLHPs and Community Health Officers (CHOs). These sessions provide participants with practical insights and operational strategies to enhance healthcare delivery.

Over the five days, the training will address critical areas under the Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) program, including ENT care, Elderly and Palliative Care, Mental Health Services (MNS), Oral Health Care, Emergency Services, and Jan Aarogya Suraksha (JAS). The initiative encourages interactive engagement, fostering knowledge-sharing and collaborative learning among healthcare professionals.
