BUDGAM, DECEMBER 21: The Central Integrated Pest Management Centre (CIPMC) Srinagar, in collaboration with the State Agriculture Department Budgam, organized a Swachhtta Camp to raise awareness on water conservation and the proper disposal of insecticide containers.

The event, held at the Agriculture Department office in Budgam, was aimed at educating local communities and agriculture field officials on sustainable practices.

The camp focused on the significance of water conservation in agriculture, underscoring its role in enhancing productivity and protecting the environment.

Special emphasis was placed on the dangers of improper disposal of insecticide containers, which can harm human health and wildlife.

Assistant Plant Protection Officer (PP)Dr.Haroon Rashid Hakla, delivered a detailed lecture on the National Pest Surveillance System (NPSS) App, explaining its functionality and implementation for pest management.
The NPSS App aids field officers and farmers in tracking pest issues effectively.

The event was attended by District Agriculture Officer (Extension) Budgam Zaffar Iqbal Pal, and SMS (DL) Budgam Abdul Rouf Shah, who also addressed the participants, highlighting the importance of such initiatives for sustainable agriculture.

The Swachhtta Camp was a significant step towards promoting cleaner, safer agricultural practices in Budgam, ensuring better environmental health for the community.
