Activists Thank Authorities for Tackling Estate Irregularities
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsappTelegram

Srinagar, Jan 1, : Social and RTI activists have expressed gratitude to higher authorities and investigative agencies for their swift action in addressing property misappropriation within the Estates Department of Jammu and Kashmir.

The intervention followed reports of alleged irregularities brought to light by various social and RTI activists.

The activists, who had flagged the issue through various platforms, lauded the decisive response from the anti graft bodies.

“We are sincerely thankful to the agencies that acted promptly upon receiving our complaints,” said a prominent RTI activist. “Their intervention not only reflects accountability but also restores public confidence in governance.”

Several activists told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the misappropriation involved significant misuse of government properties, sparking concerns about transparency and fairness. “It’s heartening to see that our efforts to highlight these issues were taken seriously,” said a social worker. “This shows that a collective voice for justice does make a difference.”

The swift action has also been lauded by many locals, many of whom had been directly or indirectly affected by the alleged irregularities.

Authorities have reportedly initiated investigations to ensure that the misuse of properties is curbed and that those responsible are held accountable.

The activists emphasized the need for continued vigilance. “While this is a positive step, we must ensure that such practices do not recur in the future. We urge the authorities to establish robust mechanisms to monitor and prevent any similar violations,” the activists said.
