Cultural Club established in Doda to promote local talent, Heritage

DODA, JANUARY 10: In a significant step towards preserving and promoting the local culture and heritage of the district, Deputy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh today launched membership forms for the registration of youth in the newly established Cultural Club Doda.

The initiative aims to provide a platform to young individuals to showcase their talent and learn traditional folk dances, music and arts. The launch event witnessed the presence of media fraternity members, officials of the Information Department, and representatives of the Cultural Club.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC congratulated the team on this milestone and expressed his vision for the club as a cornerstone for cultural revival in the district. He noted that the Cultural Club will not only serve as a platform for artistic expression but also educate the younger generation about their roots and traditional heritage. Additionally, the club will collaborate with schools, colleges, and local artists to organize workshops, cultural programs, and competitions to encourage wider participation.

The District Information Officer Doda, Nasir Ahmed Khan, elaborated on the objectives and parameters of the Cultural Club. He highlighted the commendable efforts of DC Doda in setting up this initiative, emphasizing its role in promoting the district’s cultural identity and nurturing local talent. He further urged the youth to actively participate in the club to explore and refine their artistic skills.

The initiative has been lauded as a progressive step toward cultural enrichment and community development.
