JAMMU, FEBRUARY 01: A farewell programme for outgoing Director Animal Husbandry Jammu Dr. Waheeda Parveen was held today here at the Meeting Hall, Directorate of Animal Husbandry, Talab Tillo.
Dr. Waheeda expressed appreciation to all the officers and staff of the department for their cooperation and support. She said that the department of Animal Husbandry has a vital role in betterment of farmers’ lives for which she called upon the officers and staff to continue to work with the same zeal and commitment.
Dr. Waheeda retired from active service after serving the department for more than thirty-five years. She first joined the department as Veterinary Assistant Surgeon, Bhaderwah and took over as Director on April 4, 2024 after holding various important positions in the department.
Deputy Director (AH) Dr. Adris Ahmed described the outgoing Director as an approachable and hardworking person. He lauded her for playing a proactive role in development of infrastructure and overall working of the department. He wished the outgoing Director good health and fruitful post-retirement life.
Others who spoke on the occasion include Deputy Director (R&P), Deputy Director (P), Rinderpest Control Officer and Extension Officer, Publicity Wing. The outgoing Director was accompanied by husband, daughter, son and host of family members.
