RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 3: Government Boys Model Higher Secondary School, in collaboration with J&K Science Communicators Network (J&K SCN) on Monday organized the first-ever Science Mela and Book Exhibition, marking a significant milestone in promoting scientific inquiry and literary appreciation among students.

The prestigious event was graced by Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma as the Chief Guest, while Joint Director SCERT, H.R. Pakhru, presided over the function. Chief Education Officer Bishamber Das was the special invitee, adding further prestige to the occasion.

A distinguished gathering of academicians, intellectuals, principals, teachers, masters and lecturers from Zone Rajouri witnessed the event, alongside an enthusiastic participation of students.

The Science Mela and Book Exhibition served as an innovative platform for students to explore, experiment, and engage with both the world of science and the vast ocean of literature.

The program included an interactive “Fun with Science” session and a Sky Observation Camp, where students got a rare opportunity to witness celestial wonders, igniting their curiosity about the universe.

The hands-on science activities and demonstrations allowed students to experience the practical application of scientific principles in an engaging and fun-filled manner.

In his address, the Deputy Commissioner commended the efforts of Principal HSS and the entire organizing team and resource persons for conceptualizing and executing such an enriching event. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in fostering scientific thinking, rational inquiry and literary enrichment among students, calling it a transformative step in the education sector.

“Events like the Science Mela and Book Exhibition are essential in shaping young minds, enhancing critical thinking, and instilling a love for knowledge. I appreciate the dedication of the school administration, faculty and students in making this a grand success,” remarked Abhishek Sharma.

Earlier, the event unfolded with a formal welcome and introductory address by Principal Mohammadd Muslim Wani, who emphasized the significance of nurturing scientific temperament and literary engagement among young minds.

The program witnessed highly engaging and informative sessions led by distinguished resource persons from J&K SCN.

The resource persons elaborated on various scientific concepts through live experiments, interactive demonstrations and discussions, making complex theories easy to grasp for students. Their sessions left a lasting impact, encouraging young minds to pursue science with greater enthusiasm.

To honor their invaluable contributions, the Chief Guest felicitated all resource persons and experts for their dedication towards spreading scientific knowledge. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, extending gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and organizers for making the event a resounding success.

With this historic first-ever Science Mela and Book Exhibition, Govt. Boys Model HSS Rajouri has set a new benchmark in educational innovation.
