Director RDD, Kashmir reviews status of MGNREGA, PMAY-G, other schemes at B’pora

Emphasis laid on timely completion of works, Officers asked to be proactive in resolving public issues

B’Pora: The Director, Rural Development (RDD) Kashmir, Tariq Ahmad Zargar Saturday visited district Bandipora to review the progress of various flagship Rural Development schemes under implementation there.
The status of various Rural flagship programmes including MGNREGA, PMAY-G and 14th FCA besides progress of works taken up under the Capex Budget (CD & Pyt Sector) and construction of DDC/ BDC Offices, RGSA was reviewed in detail.
It was informed that Bandipora has achieved 106 percent target in respect of person days generated under MGNREGA. Against a target of 6.19 Lakh persondays set for ending February 2022, 6.56 Lakh person days have already been generated till date. Moreover, MGNREGA Wages are being released in time among the MGNREGA Job Card Holders and till date Rs 14.38 Crore have been paid under labour component besides 100 percent geo-tagging of assets and 97 percent Aadhaar Seeding of Job Card Holders is complete.
Similarly, out of the 1431 works taken up under MGNREGA, 697 works have been completed while remaining are at various stages of execution. BDOs were instructed to complete the ongoing works as there is now no ceiling to generate the mandays for completion of ongoing works.
Furthermore, under PMAY-G, against the approved target of 301 units, 271 units have been completed till date. The 1st installment in favor of all 301 beneficiaries, 2nd installment in favor of 281 and 3rd installment in favor of 271 beneficiaries has been released. Under the Capex Budget CD & Pyt Sector, out of the 57 works taken-up for execution, 17 have been completed and remaining are at various stages of completion. Moreover, under Rural Connectivity, out of the 9 works taken up, 5 have been completed.
It was further informed that during the current financial year, one DDC and two BDC Offices have been approved for construction.
The Director stressed on timely completion of all taken up works including works taken up under the PRI, DDC and BDC grants. He urged BDOs to ensure timely release of the remaining installments in favor of the housing unit beneficiaries under PMAY-G and completion of the units.
The Director also directed officers to conduct regular field visits to monitor the quality and standard of ongoing works.
ACD Bandipora Ab Rashid Dass, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, SE (REW), Executive Engineer (REW) Bandipora, BDOs, AEEs and other officers attended the review meeting.
