SRINAGAR, MARCH 24: Department of Social Welfare, SANKALP- Hub for Empowerment of Women- Mission Shakti Srinagar organized Mega Plantation Drive in the name of Girl Child under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) in different Higher Secondary institutions of district Srinagar.
The drive aimed to raise awareness on different aspects of BBBP, importance of plants for future generations and visualize the life of a girl child as a soothing shadow of plants.
Such drives are intended to celebrate the birth of girl children and recognize their rights and potential. They also promote environmental awareness and conservation by planting trees.
The act of planting a tree in a girl’s name was aimed to symbolize empowerment and a commitment to her future, said an official.
The Plantation Drive started w.e.f 22-03-2025 in various Higher secondary institutions including GGHSS Rajbagh, GGHSS Kothibagh, GGHSS Amira Kadal, GGHSS Sonwar, GGHSS Nawakdaland GHSS Zadibal and successfully concluded on 24-03-025 at GGHSS Nishat
