REASI, APRIL 29: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Reasi Nidhi Malik today chaired a meeting of the Vidyalaya Management Committee (VMC) at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Reasi.
The meeting aimed at reviewing key infrastructure and academic issues and devising action plans for further improvement of the institution.
The Principal of JNV welcomed the Chairperson and committee members and presented a comprehensive overview of the school’s academic and infrastructural achievements, along with pressing issues needing administrative intervention.
During the meeting, several critical agenda points were discussed, including the need for alternate water connections, uninterrupted 24×7 power supply, safety and security enhancements, and the procurement of solar lights.
The DC directed a thorough audit of all JNV buildings to ensure safety standards and compliance. She also instructed the Jal Shakti Department to conduct water quality testing and explore the feasibility of alternative water sources.
Taking note of the infrastructural needs, the DC asked the Public Works Department (PWD) to inspect the site and prepare a detailed estimate for the construction of a protection wall around the school premises. Additionally, the Tehsildar was directed to demarcate the Vidyalaya land and submit a report within a week.
To support holistic development, the DC suggested the identification of a suitable location within the campus for a multipurpose hall and asked the Principal to prepare and submit a Detailed Project Report (DPR) within a week.
The DC also emphasized the importance of science education for girls and directed the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Reasi to identify nearby girl students and motivate them to enroll under the Vigyan Jyoti scheme, which aims to empower girls in the field of science and technology.
In line with environmental sustainability, the DC instructed the Principal to sensitize students on waste segregation. She advised that organic waste be disposed of in compost pits while inorganic waste be collected and handed over to ragmen for appropriate disposal.
The DC also inspected the classrooms, hostel building, mess, playground, and other facilities on campus. She instructed the school staff to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the institution.
ADC Rakesh Kumar, CPO Narinder Kumar, CEO, CMO, XENs were also present during the meeting.
