Poonch, May 12 : Stating that the compensation will be given to the families affected by the Pakistan shelling, Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana Monday hinted appointments for the Next of Kins (NoKs) of those who lost their lives in the skirmishes.

Rana, as per the news agency, congratulated both the countries—India and Pakistan for agreeing to sit on a table to resolve the issues.

“Although ceasefire is in place, Poonch has faced severe damage due to Pakistan shelling. The Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had visited the families of those who suffered damage and lost their beloved ones in the shelling. The National Conference (NC) believes that the issues can only be resolved through talks. We congratulate the leadership of both the nations for agreeing to dialogue and resolving the issues,” Rana said.

“The suggestions were put forth by the civil society members and the Chief Minister himself has discussed some plans. The decisions in this regard will be made in the cabinet soon,” he said, adding that the families who lost their beloved ones will be given compensation while the CM has pointed toward appointments under SRO43 as well. “We will try to give people some benefits under SRO-43,” he said.

Pertinently, Rana was also present in the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah with the civil society members in Poonch to assess the damage caused by Pakistan shelling
