SHOPIAN, MAY 30: On the second day of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA) campaign, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Shopian actively carried forward the mission of VKSA through extensive field outreach.

To ensure a multidisciplinary and comprehensive approach, three expert teams were constituted under the leadership of Dr. Shaiq Ahmad Ganai, Dr. Zaffar Ahmad Badri, and Dr. Bilal Ahmad Pandit and comprising officers and specialists from diverse departments including agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, sheep husbandry, fisheries, and sericulture.

The teams visited several villages across three different blocks in the district covered the villages of Butmuran, Berthipora, Kralcheck, Children, Peerpora, Ahagam, Barbugh and Kanigam

Throughout the day, the teams conducted awareness sessions focusing on a range of crucial agricultural topics like importance and usage of Soil health Cards and the judicious application of fertilizers; recommended Package of Practices (PoPs) for Kharif crops, promotion of High-Density Apple Plantations, etc.

Also farmers were introduced to Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), value addition and food processing methods, and were made aware of various central and state government schemes tailored for their welfare.
