DLSA Shopian organizes awareness programme on ‘World Day against Child Labour’

SHOPIAN, JUNE 12: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Shopian, in collaboration with the Education Department, today organized an awareness programme on ‘World Day Against Child Labour’ at Government Higher Secondary School Vehil, Shopian.

The event was conducted under the guidance of Mehmood Ahmad Chowdhary, Chairman DLSA (Principal District & Sessions Judge, Shopian) and Mudasar Farooq, Secretary DLSA Shopian.

Programme aimed to educate students, teachers and the community about the detrimental effects of child labour and the legal provisions in place to combat it.

Chief LADC, Rafiq Ahmed Ganie; Assistant LADCs, Advocate Khushboo Manzoor and Amir Ayoub, Legal Aid Defense Counsel (LADC) Advocates, students, teachers, and Para-Legal Volunteers (PLVs) attended the programme.

Speakers highlighted the importance of eradicating child labour, emphasizing education and legal rights for children. They also discussed the role of society and law enforcement in protecting children from exploitation.
DLSA Shopian remains committed to spreading legal awareness and ensuring justice for all, particularly vulnerable sections of society. Such initiatives reinforce the collective effort to create a child-labour-free society.
