BANDIPORA, JUNE 30 : On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, a one-day awareness workshop on the Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme was conducted on Monday at the Municipal Council Hall, Bandipora.
The event was organized under the guidance of District Sheep Husbandry Officer Bandipora, Dr Peer Irshad, who is also the District Nodal Officer (DNO), PMFME Scheme.
The workshop was organised to create awareness among local stakeholders about the scope, procedures, and benefits of the PMFME scheme.
This flagship initiative by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India, aims to formalize and support the unorganized micro food processing sector.
On the occasion, special focus was placed on empowering rural entrepreneurs, self-help groups (SHGs), and individual beneficiaries, highlighting the financial support, technical assistance, and capacity-building initiatives available under the scheme.
Speaking at the event, the District Nodal Officer emphasized the transformative potential of the PMFME scheme and encouraged eligible stakeholders to take full advantage of the scheme to boost rural employment and value addition in food processing.
The workshop served as a crucial outreach effort to bridge information gaps and ensure that the benefits of centrally sponsored schemes reach the most inaccessible areas.
Among others, the workshop was attended by representatives from Lead District Manager (LDM) Bandipora, Agriculture Office, Animal Husbandry Department, NRLM, Fisheries Department, and other concerned line departments.
