RAMBAN, JULY 02: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan today flagged off the Annual ‘Sarvadhar Yatra’, locally popular as Chamunda Mata Yatra, from Ukheral. The ceremony was graced by Member Legislative Assembly Ramban, Advocate Arjun Singh Raju amid rich religious, cultural and traditional fervor.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, senior officers, prominent citizens and members of the Yatra Committee were also present on the occasion.

The annual Chamunda Mata Yatra attracts thousands of devotees from across the region and beyond. Sarvadhar Yatra is not just a religious journey but also a spiritual expedition through the breathtaking landscapes of the Himalayas, offering devotees a unique blend of devotion, adventure and natural beauty.

The sacred Chamunda Mata Mandir located amidst the serene heights of Pogal Paristan in Ramban district, holds immense historical and spiritual significance and is believed to be centuries old. The ‘Charri Mubarak’ Yatra is traditionally held every year between June and August, with many devotees continuing the pilgrimage until winter, braving the challenging terrain with deep faith and devotion.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA highlighted the importance of the Yatra in preserving the region’s spiritual and cultural heritage while strengthening communal harmony. He appreciated the efforts of the district administration and the Yatra Committee in facilitating smooth and safe arrangements for the devotees.

The Deputy Commissioner assured that the district administration has made comprehensive arrangements for the convenience, safety and security of the pilgrims. He emphasized that facilities such as medical aid, drinking water, sanitation, boarding and lodging have been set up along the Yatra route in close coordination with various departments and local stakeholders.

The Yatra, which commenced today, will continue till Rakshabandhan in August, allowing devotees to undertake this sacred journey during the summer season and seek the blessings of Mata Chamunda Ji.
