Dozens of houses, other structures damaged in windstorm in Doda

Jammu, May 20 (KNO): Dozens of residential houses and some other structures suffered damage on Friday evening in parts of Gandoh sub division of Doda district due to windstorm.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that on Friday evening, a windstorm badly affected many areas of Gandoh sub division in Doda with areas including Dharveri and other panchayats remaining the epicenter of this storm.

They said that dozens of residential houses, some other structures have got damaged partially or completely in the windstorm, adding that most of the structures got damaged after their rooftops got blown in the wind.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda Abdul Qayoom said that there is large- scale damage of residential and other structures.

He added, “We have no report of any loss of life or injury so far and exact quantum of loss of property is being accessed.”—(KNO)
