Katra, Feb 15, : Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday claimed that the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir was a ‘historic decision. He underscored the primacy of national interest over political and individual considerations while addressing the 10th convocation of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU).

Speaking at the Matrika Auditorium, Dhankhar asserted that nationalism is the unifying identity of every Indian. “Our foremost duty is to uphold nationalism above all else, regardless of circumstances,” he stated. He praised India’s development trajectory under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, crediting the leadership for the nation’s advancements over the past decade.

The event was attended by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and Education Minister Sakeena Itoo. Highlighting the 2019 abrogation of Article 370, the Vice President described it as a “historic decision,” reiterating that the provision was always meant to be temporary.
