SHOPIAN, MARCH 08: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone today flagged-off a group of 35 farmers from Mini-Secretariat Shopian for a seven days exposure visit to Punjab Agriculture University and other institutes organized under the Sub Mission on Agriculture Extension (ATMA-2024-25).

The programme, facilitated by the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of farmers, agripreneurs, and beekeepers by providing them with first-hand experience of advanced agricultural practices.

The exposure visit includes outside-state training sessions, covering modern farming techniques, sustainable agriculture, and food value-added farming practices.

During the flag-off ceremony, ADDC emphasized the importance of such initiatives in empowering the farming community and boosting agricultural productivity in the district.

The visit will include interactions with agricultural experts, field visits to progressive farms, and training sessions on innovative farming techniques.

Chief Agriculture Officer, Farooq Ahmad Rishi, stressed the importance of applying the newly acquired skills and technologies in their agricultural practices, which can significantly contribute to improving farm productivity and profitability.

District Subject Matter Specialist, Gh Nabi Reshi and other officers/officials were also present on the occasion.
